Awash With AntleR live by the muddy Humber
banks and North Sea port of Hull, England.
Their music brings together three part harmony singing, English folk,
orchestral strings,
dance grooves, dirge rock and something altogether more exotic; a love
of Brazilian
samba drumming, tribal beats and eastern music. Their sound thus far
has been
described as 'enchanting, disturbing, infectious', 'Kate Bush on samba'
and 'magic'.
Having filled support slots for King Creosote and Carla Bozulich's
Evangelista,
Awash With AntleR are currently making an album to be released on Snood
Records.
They plan on playing more UK gigs later this year.

Brief Biog:
Lu settled on the surreal name 'Awash With AntleR' during the Yorkshire floods of 2007.
Having turned to singing only when a pathetic rock
climbing injury left her unable to play violin,
she sought out players to bring to life the tunes she'd been
writing all winter and miserable summer.
Poi dancing, allotment keeping Sally was found playing viola in
the Hull Philharmonic Orchestra;
Emma at an open mic night at the infamous Adelphi
Club. Emma originally joined to provide backing
vocals, but when it was discovered that she used to bash
marching drum in Manchester's Girls Brigade,
she was roped in as
beat master.
Now they
all write tunes, sing three part harmonies and switch
between a multitude of instruments, including violin, viola, piano, harmonium, bongos,
stomp box,
teapots, bodhran, kaos pad, guitar, phono-cello, glockenspeil
& random percussion.
